Mobile Phones

All pupils are allowed to have mobile phones with them on-site.

Key stage 3 and 4 pupils are not permitted to use mobile phones during the school day. If they are seen or heard, they will be confiscated and a detention issued.  Mobile phones should be placed in a school bag or inside blazer pocket for security reasons.  They should not be in trouser pockets where they can be seen.

Sixth form students may use them for study in the study rooms or sixth form playground only.  They must not be taken out of their bags in any other area of the school.

In emergencies, students may ask to use their phones, which should be done in a staff member’s room, or under the direct supervision of a staff member where a room is not available.

Pupils bringing them into school do so at their own risk.  As many mobile phones are expensive, we encourage parents to buy a cheap mobile phone for school use.
