A blast from the past for Barnhill

We received a surprise enquiry recently from a former pupil who remembered writing an article for a ‘Time Capsule’ exercise back in 2000.

This lead to a search of the building where we ‘unearthed’ a treasure trove containing over 200 pages written by year 7 students who had just joined the school way back then.

Emma, Lauren and Joanne who got in touch have given permission to share their articles and said they enjoyed reading about their experiences and aspirations as their adolescent selves!  Lauren moved to New Zealand in 2001 and says she is currently enjoying being mum to her 4 year old daughter; Emma moved to Aylesbury and is a team leader in the Pharmaceutical sector and Joanne found a passion for the motor trade enjoying 14 years with Mercedes Benz.  Joanne said she and her husband are considering emigrating to New Zealand so maybe they can catch up with Lauren!

It was a privilege to delve into the past.

We are interested to hear from anyone in the community who may have stories, photos or articles to share to continue building our history well into the 21st century.  If you do have anything to contribute, please get in touch via enquiries@barnhill.school with ‘History’ in the subject line.
