Barnhill's Got Talent 2025

Golden buzzers all round for the super students who took to the stage for our very own BGT

On the evening of Tuesday, January 21st, Barnhill Community High School proudly hosted  Barnhill’s Got Talent. The event was a vibrant celebration of the exceptional talent within our community, featuring performances from students across all year groups, as well as contributions from teachers.

The evening commenced with a stellar performance by the school’s very own band, Pheatus, comprising Mr. Hillman, Mr. Clyne, Ms. Connage, and our talented students Jackie, Suraiyah, and Darryl. Their dynamic rendition of the hit song ‘Teenage Dirtbag’ by Wheatus set the tone for the night and earned high praise from our distinguished panel of judges.

The subsequent performances were equally captivating, showcasing a diverse range of skills, including singing, dancing, monologues, rapping, drumming, and gymnastics. Among the singers were Pheatus themselves, Akeelah, who delivered a stunning acapella rendition of ‘I Was Here by’ Beyoncé, earning her the well-deserved first-place prize. Other incredible vocal performances included Erin and Mya, who sang their heartfelt original song ‘I’ll Be Fine’; Aisha, who gave a powerful rendition of Adele’s ‘Set Fire to the Rain’; Jenovia, who earned second place with her outstanding performance of Adele’s ‘Hello’; Cria, who brought energy with Olivia Rodrigo’s ’Good 4 U’; Euan and Janae, who beautifully harmonized on ‘Sweater Weather’ by The Neighbourhood; and Ella Louise, whose stellar rendition of ‘Curses’ by The Crane Wives captivated both the judges and the audience.

The dancers also amazed the audience with their artistry and athleticism. Performers included Maci, who incorporated impressive gymnastic stunts into her routine; Sehajpreet; Jessica and Ameena; Marwa and Jenna; and Ms. Gabriel, who showcased her expertise in tap dancing.

The night also featured Fatima, who inspired the audience with an empowering monologue on self-confidence, and Rayan, whose extraordinary drumming skills earned him third place. Taiyebah performed a beautiful nasheed, while Manuel and Mason wowed the crowd with their exceptional rapping and breakdancing talents.

The evening concluded with a lively group dance featuring all the performers, followed by a prize-giving ceremony where winners were awarded Amazon vouchers and certificates in recognition of their remarkable talents and participation. The event was a resounding success, marking yet another unforgettable chapter in Barnhill’s Got Talent history.

What an entertaining evening the audience enjoyed on Tuesday 28th January as 11 acts took to the stage to showcase their talent with the hope of winning the BGT title.
