Experimental Year 10's have got Science in their DNA
We are thrilled to showcase the incredible work of our Year 10 students at Barnhill School as part of the Deep Learning Day (DLD). DLD provides a unique opportunity for our students to delve into the fascinating world of science beyond the boundaries of the curriculum.
During this term's DLD, our Year 10 students were engaged in an exciting project involving the modelling of DNA. The students embarked on a journey to unravel the mysteries of the double helix structure and the various chemical bonds that make up each strand. Through hands-on exploration and experimentation, they gained a deeper understanding of the fundamental building blocks of life.
In addition to the DNA model, our students also took on the challenge of constructing a giant lattice structure. This task allowed them to apply their understanding of chemical bonds practically and visually strikingly. The lattice structure showcases their ability to think critically, problem-solve, and apply scientific concepts in a real-world context.
