Barnhill Languages Day
Barnhill World Languages Day
In the morning, two multilingual students (Ariana and Satwinder) read out an announcement about the significance of the day.
In form time, students watched slides explaining the importance of language learning, and Sixth Formers watched slides on how they can combine languages with many options in higher education.
At breaktime, students from the sixth form taught lessons on Japanese, Dutch, Punjabi, Tamil and Urdu to students in Years 7 and 8.
At lunchtime, staff brought in a range of dishes from their own cultures, to celebrate diversity in the school.
Finally, the Year 7 and 8 students are working on posters explaining the importance of studying a foreign language in form time. The deadline for entries is Tuesday 2nd October and the 3 best posters will receive a prize from the MFL department.
