Transition Day 2022
Year 6 children coming to Barnhill in September got their first taste of secondary school life during the transition day on 5th July.
The day is designed to prepare students for the next important step in their education and help to alleviate any anxieties which naturally occur when big changes are on the horizon.
Mr Jones, Headteacher, delivered an introductory assembly extending a very warm welcome and offering lots of encouragement.
The students then got to meet their form tutor, Head of Year, pastoral lead and senior members of staff who will be supporting them during the next academic year. They got to sample some lessons (getting particularly creative in the art department), following the Y7 timetable and stayed for lunch.
Parents of children starting Year 7 in September are invited to an information evening on 13th July when further details will be shared about life at Barnhill and expectations for a successful home/school partnership.
