    As part of Remembrance Day, I was able to bring my Grandfathers' medals for the students to see.

    Charles Skilton was a Dispatch rider, he was part of the 8th Army in El Alamein. One of his duties involved him taking Earl Alexander to see Montgomery through the Minefields. This earnt him the nickname ‘Skilly’

  • Careers Day

    Friday 18 October saw Barnhill’s first ever Deep Learning Day. All pupils across the school were off timetable to immerse themselves in real world enrichment activities.

    Year 7 explored planets at the Science museum i-max

    Year 8 pupils took a trip to look at the geography and ecology of Kew Gardens

    Year 9 took part in a wellbeing day with inter-house sports competitions as well as sessions exploring yoga and mindfulness

    Year 10 had a host of exciting visitors including the recording artist Elliott Morris and a Dance group from Uxbridge College. The highlight for the whole year group was a visit from Carnegie nominated author Savita Kalhan who talked about her new book, “That Asian Kid”.

    Year 11 spent the whole day learning about a range of careers with talks from hospital consultants, microbiologists, credit rating companies, Wagamama and Hillingdon Mental health services.

    Y9 Prince's Trust group have been having tennis lessons at Uxbridge Tennis Club over the last 6 weeks.  They took part in activities against other Prince's Trust groups and won 1st Prize, Tickets to Wimbledon.
