An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint an Academic Tutor to provide an exceptional academic tutoring service for our science and maths students to improve their outcomes.

Barnhill is a heavily oversubscribed, high performing school that places wellbeing and quality of life at the heart of its ethos. Barnhill performs in and around the top 5% of schools in the country and was judged to be outstanding by Ofsted in February 2024. The sixth form was judged to be a very strong aspect of the school in the inspection.

Staff wellbeing
We have a very well thought of staff wellbeing offer that focusses on allowing staff to concentrate on their work without unnecessary impediment. In addition to this there is a range of supportive measures such marking from home, wellbeing events and staff celebrations.

Cover Supervisor 

  • Permanent

  • Salary NJC 6, Point 19 - £29,239 per annum
  • 36 hours per week to work flexibly between the hours of 8.00am and 4.00pm
  • Term Time Only plus 5 INSET days - 39 working weeks in total

Are you ambitious and passionate about education and looking for a great opportunity to work in a vibrant and high achieving school?

We are seeking to appoint a Cover Supervisor to provide class supervision when a teacher is absent ensuring that in doing so students learning and development is continued and maintained. Monitor students and assessing, recording and reporting on student’s achievement, progress and development as agreed with the teacher plan, prepare and deliver learning activities for individuals/groups or short-term for whole classes. Responsible for the supervision of Teaching Assistants deployed within the class providing cover. Complete administrative tasks where appropriate.
