Ukraine Crisis
Lending our Support
What started as one student in Y11 presenting to his classmates about the plight of his home country turned into a whole school project.
We have received kind donations from many students and staff and have managed to collect a large amount of goods including baby items, medical supplies, toiletries and non-perishable food. We took these to the depot of Nishkam SWAT, a charity that works with the homeless in the UK and the wider world. Representatives told the boys that they have been to the border of Poland and Ukraine and visited schools and churches that were housing displaced citizens and given out supplies. Our goods will also be taken to Ukraine.
We have also raised a little under £1000 through the non-uniform day on the last day of the spring term and other enterprise initiatives and this money will go to a charity helping Ukrainians.
Thank you to everyone who has contributed and a big thank you to Yaroslav and Mati in Y11 for initiating and supporting the project throughout.
